Frequently asked questions
How do I translate a comic book on my phone?
Choose the type of comic in Magavis — for example “Comics — USA, UK” or “Bande dessinée — France, Belgium” — open the page in any app or browser and tap the floating button.
Which comics can Magavis translate?
Comics in Latin script — English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Filipino and others — plus Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Comics in Cyrillic, Arabic, Thai or Greek script are not supported yet.
Is Magavis free?
The first 3 days are free: enter your email in the app and we’ll send you a trial key, cloud translation included (up to 100 pages a day). After that the subscription costs $5 a month, and one key works on two phones.
Does Magavis need root or a special reader app?
No. It works on top of any app using Android's screen capture and "display over other apps" permissions. You need Android 9 or newer.
Are my screenshots sent anywhere?
No. On-device translation never sends anything. Cloud translation sends only the recognized lines of text, never images of your screen.
